Hi , I have been on Enbrel for 2 years and have never had any problems arise

as yet. I take Mtx orally and sometimes I do take it the same day as Enbrel.

For those of you who take both MTX and Enbrel (assuming you take one 50mg dose

a week), do you take both medications on the same day, or do you take MTX one

day and Enbrel on another?

Also, given the recent posts regarding infection difficulties with Enbrel,

are there many others who have experienced infections which have been difficult

to clear that are attributable to Enbrel?

Thanks for your help.

Hi :

I take my Enbrel on Sunday and Wednesday, and

Methotrexate on Friday night. That way I kind of

space a day or so of rest between them. All of them,

the Mtx especially, kind of increase my fatigue the

day after I take it, so if I give myself some days

" off " I do better. If I were to give my Enbrel, and

dose with Mtx, you probably would not see me out of

bed until the following Enbrel dose lol.

I have had problems with bronchitis since I was a kid,

and I also have had asthma all my life, and with

taking the Enbrel, I have found it a bit more

difficult to get rid of the bronchitis once it gets

going. I usually end up on pretty strong antibiotics.

When I get the feeling I am going to be sick, and

this has been for the past week for me actually, and

so I have not had two doses of the Enbrel but did take

my Mtx on Friday, I skip my Enbrel until I feel

better. If it keeps up, I go to my doctor for

antibiotics so I can get the bronchitis/asthma thing

taken care of so I can get back on my Enbrel ASAP.

The combo of Mtx and Enbrel has really helped me, so I

hate to miss any doses.

Hope this helps,
