We have been down a similar path - in a way I was like you. I was banded and after about 18 months and reaching goal I started to get sick and terrible reflux and back ache. Eventually it was discovered I had a slip and it had brought my stomach back up thru my band and I had a second pouch that was full of fluid sitting there ready to rupture and I would have bled to death.

I had my band out and 3 months later I was rebanded. Hey like you it is an uncommon thing that happened and I still reflect on the time as a sad part that scares me and I am still a bit anxious about it all. In any case I just think I am back, banded and if I ever get over myself I will be back at goal.
