Guest guest Posted January 23, 2008 Report Share Posted January 23, 2008 I have been down to Melbourne to the tennis for a flying visit hosting with Craig some clients for work... hate flying, but will do it to go somewhere nice. Firstly, had a lovely dinner at the Rockpool, Neil 's restaurant in the casino - heaven on a stick it was really. I was able to eat half my entree and half my my meal of (duck) and didn't loose any of it, bonus. Then off to the tennis which was a wonderful evening of fun and laughter and far too many bourbons (promise I am giving up on Friday!). But the most wonderful thing was that dear Pyretta went to a huge amount of effort to get up and get on the train for 90 minutes to come in and have a wee get together first thing this morning. We wandered up the river a bit and found a very nice cafe to have a latte & a mocha or two, and we sat and chatted for two hours about life, our bands, weight loss and lack of it, our kids and friends. It was just the nicest way to start what was a beautiful Melbourne Day. Pyretta... you are a legend for making the effort to come in and see me... I know how hard it is to do those things, but it was so wonderful to see your name pop up when my phone rang this morning. I was jumping up and down and Craig thought I had won the lottery. Craig just doesn't understand why that sort of excitement is just the best therapy for us bandits sometimes. I was so upset that I didn't have my camera with me or I would have played the real tourist and got someone to take our photo on the Flinders Station bridge - bugger I say!
