RE: Macular degeneration - hereditary

I have been reading the posts regarding macular degeneration. My mom

is now legally blind from macular degeneration. She did manage to

keep her sight an extra decade from laser surgery though. I was told

that it WAS hereditary and I needed to be diligent with my eye exams

as well as checking my vision with the grid. Also, if I ever saw

any " floaters " to go to an eye doctor immediately. Has anyone else

been told this? I'd like to keep my vision since my joints are

probably going to be shot to heck by the time I get to 60!
