SSD - Medicare

Hi everyone..

I have a question regarding SSD and Medicare. April 2007 will be two

years receiving SSD checks. Social Security has informed me that at

that time I will automatically be eligible for medicare insurance. I

took a early retirement at 55 and fortunately was able to keep my

medical insurance (paying $350.00 monthly). I will be 57 on October

7th. Do I have to accept medicare? I, (like many of you), am on

enbrel - paying only $10.00 co-pay per month. That's only one

medication. Initially I thought this would be a good thing.

Unfortunately I have learned otherwise. I appreciate any and all

information any of you can provide. I know it will be accurate and a

heck of a lot quicker and making a call to the S.S. office. :) I

don't want to call my employer insurance people because I anticipate

the possibility of being red flagged.

Thanks so much.
