Guest guest
Darcy, The doctors prefer that you are awake enough to follow commands. If it is absolutely neccessary, they can do it while you are completely asleep. The problem with that is that your eye moves in what ever direction the doctor is pulling it in. When you are awake or at least in the twilight sleep, the doctor can tell you what he needs you to do and being awake, your eye doesn't move around as easily. It usually is doctors preference but if you talk to him/her, they can talk it over with you,,,,Marina > > I thought I remembered hearing that you have to be awake for cataract > surgery, is this correct? I have an almost phobia about my eyes (things > touching them) and the thought of being awake to correct my cataracts > (whenever they need to be done) is very unsettling. > Darcy >
