Guest guest
Hello I have the same problem. I desperately desire to keep my hands from being in a constant spasm. I try everything to no avail.....I gave up my standard transmission car because I could not trust my hands to work shift any longer.....If you find even a partial solution, please share.... Seems natural to curl them up when sleeping. Will wearing such support slow down the progression of the finger joints crippling up and becoming obviously bent looking. I am finally at that stage where I can no longer where my rings. Jean
Guest guest
I found a cool idea, while looking splints for my fingers. Take a wrist spint for carpal tunnel, hey, most of us had those already %^), and put them on backwards. hmmm, take the right hand splint and put it on your left hand with the thumb through the thumb home and the splint part over your fingers. WORKS! It does keep your fingers straight at night. I have a nasty contracture thing going on with the fingers in both my hands at the moment, and can only do this for a while until the pain gets too bad. My fingers are going to curl no matter what. Well, a Rheumy appt next week, hopefully he will have a cortisone shot or other trick in his bag to make the pain stop at least. Gotta stay hopeful. Good luck. PS. My mother used tongue depressors and tape to keep her fingers straight at night, labor intensive but that works too. > Nettleton wrote: > Hi Everyone, > Here I am again looking for more info, any idea where I can get good gloves or supports for the hands and fingers, to help keep them straightened out at night while I sleep. Guest guest
I have used the splints on the wrong hands. I have also put rolled washcloths in the palm side between my hand and the splint- and have also used small ice bags there----or used and ace wrap to hold a firm ziplock of ice against my fingers to help keep them from curling and to help them not hurt. Good luck! - In , " cynthiadew1 " <cynthiadew1@...> wrote: > > > I found a cool idea, while looking splints for my fingers. Guest guest
I have the same problem with my hand because of an old stroke, it tends to curls tightly at night. I've tried splints, popsicle sticks, etc. but nothing that I've been satisfied with. I'd be interested if anyone else has any other options.
