Guest guest
Hi Molly, Well, I had heard that saunsa were benefifial too for a detox. I still prefer the peroxide baths( 2cups of epsom salts to 2 bottles of hydrogen peroxide. Soak 30 minutes and make it as hot as you can. Also if you have jets, use them. That should sped the process up for you too.Remember to drink a lot of good water..bottled. Also what worked for me wqas benedryl at the beginning as it helped with the histiminee production that goes on. Hang in there. The people here will make a difference to you Love Marge > Hello. I'm Molly in Oregon, here from the Road Back BB. I have RA, have been symptomatic for only about 6 months, and dx'd three months ago. I have only been on Minocin for two weeks. So far, everything's going along fine. I am able to control swelling and pain with small doses of Advil twice a day; fatigue is my biggest problem, but I still excercise at a gym two or three times a week. My gym has a steam sauna. I have heard that saunas can be beneficial in helping rid the body of toxins and I would love any information anyone has on the subject. Could it perhaps hasten my recovery or just make me feel better in a flare or a herx? Does any of you have any personal experience with saunas and your disease? > Thank you. Molly. Guest guest
I have been using saunas 4 or 5 times a week...very good results. Also, have read Hubbards book " Clean Body, Clear Mind " and I think he has some good info, except that the info on using Niacin to mobilize detox from the fat cells..that thru me into overload. I suggest that you go to cfspages.com, Jeff , who recovered from amalgam illness and read his story. very good info. Andy makes several reference to it in his book that are good. I have not used the FIR saunas, but I have read several things positive and negative about both. Guest guest
Hi Sam, Do you mean B3 made you worse. Is this true for niacinamide, too? What is the safe dosage. I have been taking about 200 mg per day. Would you think this is risky? Thanks.Nil [ ] Re: Saunas I have been using saunas 4 or 5 times a week...very good results. I have been taking about 200 mg per day. Would you think this is risky? Hi Nils: Niacinamide, I think is the name of the B3 that they have taken the flusing mechanism out of. I started taking flushing (niacin) about 3 years ago with consultation from the naturopath that I was working with, and she suggested dosage ranges up to about 1000mg at a time. That was before I became aware of the amalgam issue, and was working on candida and cfids issues. I think it helped some. In the last 9 months while having amalgams removed and starting chelation I have used niacin maybe a dozen times before taking sauna, and I believe that I still have too much mercury coming out and that I am holding off till I have stopped chelating and then can go back to some other general forms of body detoxes, like fasting, and will be able to use niacin to assit with getting other things out of the fat cells e.g. DDT, and other toxins that can affect overall immune system. I believe that regular sauna usage, 4 or 5 times a week, has been as useful a tool as chelation to help draw out the large body pools of mercury, and that as I get those reduced, saunas will still be helpful, but at first, they have been a lifesaver. I guess I have been using saunas pretty regular for about 15 years, and think they are great, especially allowing one to cope in the first stages after amalgam removal. As generally outlined in Andy's book, I take a slew of vitamins and minerals, including a standard B 100 complex that includes niacimide. hope this helps. sam > > Thanks.Nil > [ ] Re: Saunas > > > I have been using saunas 4 or 5 times a week...very good results. > Also, have read Hubbards book " Clean Body, Clear Mind " and I think he > has some good info, except that the info on using Niacin to mobilize > detox from the fat cells..that thru me into overload. Guest guest
Angie, We live in a community where the Univ saunas are available to the public so have been using them for a long time with little and big children. I used to keep or babies(3-4 mon) in about 5 minutes to begin. We would be able to stay 10-15 minutes with several shower breaks as they got used to it. Red faced and fussy always told me to stop. I go now with a mercury poisoned 19 year old who still does not sweat well. We generally stay 30-40 minutes with several(3-4) shower breaks. A cool towel over her head helps her sweat more. We try to go 1-2x/wk school year/more in summer. I would go daily if I had the time!! > our DAN! doctor said sauna's were good with chelation but i didn't ask how often to go and for how long each time. does anyone have any advice? my dtr is 5 next month. angie
Guest guest
Wondering what part of the 's protocal did you find inappropriate for your situation? Was it the brand, timing, supplementation? Guest guest
Has anyone used a sauna for RA and if so does it help? It is a penetrating heat so.... it seems like it should help but I have never seen any posts regarding them.
