Hello Everyone;

I am new to this support group and since I do not know everyone well I would

like to get some input from the group on the following issues.

I have an understanding family but at times I feel like the family alien

member since I am the one that is dealing with the pain from RA and they are all

so healthy. The group is a great sense of support because I no longer feel alone

in this painful mess, lol..

When I was given the RA verdict, I was placed on high doses of Pred. and after

the flare up's seemed to ease up a bit they slowly started weaning me off of it.

I am no longer taking it. I am on Plaquenil now and take Darvocet daily for the

pain.

About six months ago I started experiencing severe pain in my feet, the left

one was the worst. My foot would get red and feel like it was on fire. There

were times when I could barely walk. After numerous tests they found that many

nerves in my foot were compressed (tarsal tunnel). I had surgery on 12/6. I am

slowly recovering but now face the decision of getting back to work.

I have a job as an auitor and I am on my feet, standing & walking for a 9-10

hour shifts M-F. I would like to hear from anyone in the group that may have had

this surgery and how long you were out of work etc.

I am currently on temp. disability and I want to get back to work but at the

same time I am wanting to be careful not to rush back too soon and be unable to

work my full work days.

I greatly appreciate any and all input.

Patti
