Ken, did the dr mention 'amputation' to you? Or are you afraid that's what

might happen? I have a former friend that had edema just as you mention, with

the skin peeling and all. He's been like that for several years, it worsens

from time-to-time but mostly the drs ignore it. Go figure. You can press on

his skin and the impressions stays for over a minute. Looks kind of like a

dent, and his skin is red & purple! Unless the drs have told said the

word......try not to worry too much about amputation, and of course you will be

in my prayers.
