Hi everyone, I am new to the group and wanted to introduce myself. My name is

and I am 37 years old and live just north of Los Angeles. I had lap. RNY in

March of 2002 and initially lost 140 lbs, but only got down to 290. I gained

back 25 lbs and then had a baby last June and gained another 25 so am back up to

340. I am starting to have osteo-arthritis in my knee and that is not acceptable

with a very active 9 month old to care for. I am thankful every day for my RNY,

it allowed me to lose some of the weight, have a baby and regain my

life..however now I really need to regain my joint health and carrying around

this extra weight is not going to allow me to do that. I am also starting a new

business in the next few weeks, called Supper Thyme. It is a meal preparation

franchise that promotes healthy eating made easy. I need to be able to stand

during the 2 hour sessions and get around much better than I currently can. I

started researching revision and came across Dr. K and the DS revision. Had I

known about DS 4 years ago---I should have started with that surgery, but

hindsight is 20/20. I am wondering how many of you are revision patients and how

your experience with revision has been different that your first experience with

gbs? I am trying not to feel like a failure for " only losing " 90 lbs total...but

a 90 lb weight loss maintained for 4 years is actually pretty good and I need to

remember that.

If you have experience, good, bad, or otherwise with the DS revision, I would

love to hear about it. I would also love to get advice on how long recovery is

with open compared to lap, since I think I will have to go open this time. I

think I need to wait until my baby is walking so he can help get himself places.

Thanks everyone, can't wait to hear your feedback on Dr. K. and his program.
