Guest guest
From the Georgia Department of Education: Fiscal Year 2012, Notice of 2% Reduction to Scholarship Payments Under directives by the Governor's Office and State Legislature, K-12 education funding will be reduced for the 2011 - 2012 school year by 2%. These reductions are retroactive to the start of the state's fiscal year which began July 1, 2011. The Georgia Department of Education will reduce the payments made to students participating in the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship Program. Because half of the scholarship funds have already been issued, the 2% reduction will be taken from the two remaining payments and will include the reductions that would have taken place at the start of the fiscal year. Students whose scholarship is higher than the tuition and fees charged by a private school will not be affected by this reduction, though the majority of students have scholarships that do not cover the cost of private school. If you have any questions regarding this information contact the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship office at SB10@....
