Guest guest
My son is eight and his doing GREAT at The Cloverleaf School (www.cloverleafschool.org). The student-teacher ratio is super-low, but they have a real focus on academics. In January, we took him out of the other private school where he had been because he was continuing to fall behind grade level. We have been blown away by the progress he has made in the last two and a half months! He is a HFA guy and the school is very capable of engaging PDD-NOS kids, imho.Good luck with the move!Subject: ISO Schools good with PDD-NOSTo: autism-georgia Date: Wednesday, March 28, 2012, 6:59 PM Greetings parents! Guest guest
Hi My daughter goes to MDE school in Marietta. They treat autism, Downs, epilepsy and other learning issues. No more than 4:1 student teacher ratio. Low tuition. Great teachers and therapists. The community is like a family and 90% of the parents are friends with each other and support each other. Great school, staff, and support. Hope u find the right place. sakurablossom1881 wrote: >Greetings parents! Guest guest
Hi , Depending on where your child is developmentally and academically, some of the more supportive Atlanta school options that might be a good fit for him if he has a PDD-NOS and SPD diagnosis include sander Academy, Lionheart School, Hirsch Academy, and Hayden’s Way. Other more intensive schools include Keystone Center for Children with Autism, Summit Learning Center, and Special Needs School of Gwinnett. They are all established schools, different from each other, have good reputations and are worth calling and visiting to see if they are a fit for your family. Each school has its supporters and detractors. It is really a matter of child and family fit. I wish you the best of luck with your move and in finding a school that works for your family. ~LM From: autism-georgia [mailto:autism-georgia ] On Behalf Of sakurablossom1881Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2012 7:00 PMTo: autism-georgia Subject: ISO Schools good with PDD-NOS Greetings parents! Guest guest
If you move to COBB try to stay at East Cobb ( the best schools) www.cobbk12.org. If you are looking for private school I recommend MDE School www.mdeschool.com. I have Friends with children diagnose with PDD-NOS and Asperger's syndrome that had horrible experience at sander Academy and Hirsch Academy. So I would stay way from that.Good Luck, A.S, "I know God promises not to give me more than I can handle. Guest guest
Also I have heard from many parents that Gwinnett is the best county for special education.
