I inquired about this program, and Sharon Borger asked me to get the word out... Easter Seals West Georgia has two grant opportunities to share with you for assistive technology and respite care. Money needs to be spent by June of 2012. The grant is for children with a disability or special need birth through age 6 (up to seventh birthday).She has Technology and Respite grant money available for the entire state of Georgia---not just West Georgia. (That was my first question.) IPads are not covered. (That was my second question.) But apps are.Email her for the forms you need to have therapists complete. Please have the therapist send me thecompleted AT grant application and AT Assessment report form with signedoriginals. You may fax or scan it to expedite the process...but I stillwill need an original. This grant does not pay for therapy services...justfor the device.* It is crucial that the therapist send me 1) information on where Ican order the item, 2) the therapist's contact number, and 3) if the item islarge and will need to be fitted (walker, wheelchair, etc.), please give methe contact information of your local AT vendor. I will work with thevendor to get the item shipped to the correct location.
