Guest guest
Are you looking for a spring recreation option for your child? Then check out Peachtree City Little League's Challenger Baseball Division! The Challenger Division of Little League is for players 4 - 18 years of age, or up to 22 if they are still in school. Disabilities cover the spectrum: Autism, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, spinal cord injuries, etc. Children who are blind or deaf may play. Some children play with their parents or siblings. Other children are paired with 'buddies' - a person who can assist the player whether it's a physical need such as a wheelchair/walker or an emotional need such attention span or coordination issue. Other children learn to play the game on their own with very minimal help. The benefits of socialization for kids is tremendous. Not only does the game provide an activity for the child, it often serves as a " release " for the parents who can now sit in the stands for an hour and let someone else attend to the needs of their child. Parents find a wonderful support system in the stands! Parents are always close by and can always step in to help when necessary. Challenger is not about scores, it's about socialization and being a part of a team. It is a structured program without the same restrictions as other divisions of baseball. Everyone plays in the field, everyone bats and everyone has fun. The teams play once a week on Saturdays at the Field of Hope in Peachtree City. Your fee includes the uniform cap, shirt, socks and belt. Registration is open at http://www.ptcll.com, and click Registration on the left side.
