Guest guest
http://goflorida.about.com/cs/disneyworld/a/wdw_special.htm this link has some good tips. When we go back, I plan on renting inside the park so you don't have to mess with the hassle of taking it on and off buses, etc. If you park in handicapped, the walk is not far to the gate. We have identical twin boys and brought our own, but that was when they were 3 and now they are too big for our own. If you get a pass from guest services they will put a sticker on the stroller making it possible for you to take it anywhere a wheelchair is allowed access. I know the park strollers are bigger than typical ones, but with this sticker the kids do not have to exit until you get on the actual ride and they let you park it up front and not in the regular stroller park area. This was necessary for us as they could not stand in line with people and are runners. You will want the pass (bring a doctors note detailing their condition) to avoid lines and most crowds. It was a life saver along with the stroller sticker. Have fun! ;@)
Guest guest
I believe Disney has accommodations for special needs kids. You used to be able to get a special pass to not have to wait in lines. You may need something from a doctor? I don't know. But, I remember they used to have this service and I imagine they still do. They may have strollers too. I would recommend calling Disney direct and ask to speak to someone regarding guest services for kids with special needs. I hope you can get the help you need...sounds like a fun trip! Let us know how it turns out. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain! We considered weather, crowds, pricing etc. The part I'm trying to figure out is the walking. They don't have the stamina of typical kids, so I'm thinking of renting a double stroller. If not, it will be interesting with the complaining, crying and asking to be carried! I'm not thrilled at spending even more money, but if it helps our family enjoy such an amazing trip it's worth it. Can you give me some advice about who to rent from, pricing, leaving it for the rides and logistics of getting it on and off the buses w/ it. Thanks, I appreciate your help and advice! Guest guest
You can rent the strollers inside the park. Then you will not have to hassle with strollers on the bus. It's not that long of a walk from the buses to the entrance & I believe all the stroller rentals are right at the entrance. Defintely get a guest asst. pass from guest services. It will not eliminate waiting in lines, but it will allow you to use the fast pass lanes for the rides that have fast pass & the other rides you'll enter through the exit lines & usually it's a short wait. I think the longest we waited this past summer at an exit line was 15 minutes (most were only a few minutes). I don't believe you can use this pass for the character photo lines though. You do not need to bring a note from your Dr. either. We just told the lady at guest services our daughters diagnosis & asked if there was anything that could make her visit more enjoyable. She also pointed out cool down stations at different parks for us. We went during the summer so it was very hot. Guest guest
The single kid strollers are 15-20 a day. The double wides are 25-35 a day. I believe they still offer a multiday option to rent them. Also ask guest services to stamp your gap (guest assistance pass) with the following: " May use stroller as wheelchair " This allows the stroller to go in lines etc where wheelchairs are allowed (if/when desired). Including character greetings. Fyi. My guy is 10 and 4ft 8in and fits in the doublewide when needed but can also fit in his 10yo super skinny cousin. But they have no cushions. > > > > Hello all, > > We are going to Disney for the first time w/ our 8 yr old twins who have ASD and ADHD.
