Guest guest
Hi, Stacey, my name is Angie Stallings and I'm the founder and director of a new non-profit organization in Atlanta, The New Normal Society. Our mission is promoting meaningful friendships and genuine inclusion for individuals on the autism spectrum through educational programs and events. I was inspired to start this organization by my three sons, two of whom are 15 year-old twins on the autism spectrum. Our introduction of the programs to the community is on Friday, August 3rd at GSU where we will present: Creating a Culture of Inclusion for Individuals on the Autism Spectrum: The Friend 2 Friend Autism Demystification Model. I am attaching a conference flyer and would be so appreciative if you would share it amongst your colleagues and contacts in the Georgia autism community, including parents, educators and other professionals. Our goal is to begin delivering the programs to local schools and organizations at the conclusion of our training in early August, and we are talking with City Schools of Decatur about serving as a pilot program. I really believe that our programs will educate typical peers about autism, and not only help to reduce bullying behaviors, but actually foster reciprocal friendships for our children on the spectrum. Thank you so much and please let me know if you have any questions or would like further information. My number and email are below, and you can visit our website at www.newnormalsociety.org.
