Guest guest
Dearest Advocates: Fulton County Schools is going to be cutting over 200 paraprofessionals for children with disabilities starting next school year. As many of you know, having a good paraprofessional in the classroom or as a one-on-one assistant in the classroom can make all the difference in the world to our children’s education and development. I truly believe that Fulton County is being VERY short-sighted and not seeing the true needs of our children. Today in the AJC newspaper, reporter Badertscher wrote an article about this situation and I was quoted. If you live in Fulton County, please take a moment and write the editor at AJC newspaper letting them know that this is WRONG. letters@... and copying reporter : nbadertscher@.... What upsets me even more is the quote at the end of the article from retiring School Supintendent Loe “This is the best budget I’ve seen since I’ve been hereâ€! WOW- at the expense of our children with disabilities again? Here is the article: http://www.ajc.com/news/fulton-schools-cutting-special-941653.html We need to speak up and let our voices be heard that this is unacceptable and the money needs to be taken somewhere else! Our children need the support in the school setting in order to be successful productive members of society in the future! Sincerely, United – We Will Make A Difference!Heidi J.
