I am posting this hoping this program is successful. We need more programs in

North Fulton that support our kids!

Roswell has just developed an adaptive soccer program for kids with special

needs. It is supposed to start this Saturday April 21st and will run for 4

consecutive Saturday mornings from 9-10am. We only have 1 person signed up so

far but have really been pushing the registration and have had a lot of calls

and emails about it this week. We will have the program but may push it back

one week to get more players signed up.

ADAPTIVE SOCCER PROGRAM

The Adaptive Soccer Program or ASP, through the Roswell Recreation and Parks

Department, is a program designed for children with disabilities, ages 5-18.

The program helps teach the game of soccer to any child with a cognitive or

physical disability.

The primary goal of ASP is to enable these children to develop their fitness,

self-esteem, and to create friendships through the joy and excitement of the

wonderful game of soccer.

ASP is not geared toward any specific disability, and everyone is encouraged to

participate.

Each session will last approximately one hour and be guided by staff and

volunteers. The sessions will consist of various games and activities each

adapted to the needs of the children in attendance.

Cost is $14 for Roswell Residents and $21 for non-residents for all four

sessions.

Shin guards are preferred along with athletic attire and tennis shoes.
