Hi gesi,

You may have missed my last post. Flyback transformers contain a

HV rectifier and therefor produce DC (not HV AC as with an

ignition coil. This will not have the same effect if you use the

plasma tube in the contact mode.

To use a flyback to produce HV you would wind a few turns of wire

around the core and use one or two power transistors as an

oscillator to pulse this new primary winding. There are lots of

instructions on the web for doing this.

But why would you want HV DC for Rifing?
