Guest guest
I can only tell you what I would do if her were my child. If he is higher functioning and you can reason, bribe, and negotiate....go to the SCD files section where it explains how to get a child on board with THAT diet intervention. If yeast issues are huge for you even with interventions on board to deal with them...he is not digesting carbs and starches properly due to gut issues and those items that would be safe in another child are toxic to yours at this point in his recovery process. HEAL THE GUT. HEAL THE GUT. HEAL THE GUT. No other intervention will work optimally or fully recover a child whose gut stands between him and his own potential to get well and develop along a NT trajectopry. We have had more gains in the past months on legal SCD foods only in conjunction with Valtrex and diflucan trial therapy....met all 9 mo-1 year goals in just three months, now setting new standards for new gains...THE tests for these kids that are the most useful are the OATs, the comprehensive stool analysis to check for yeast parasites and bacteria issues that might be derailing all other efforts. The food allergy and FOOD sensitivities panels...Stan said and he was RIGHT - do these tests. Our friends were feeding their child almond flour items every day as well as eggs bc he had no allergies...guess what he turned out to be intolerant of and what was setting off his immune system - EXACTLY...dropped those items and he is doing MUCH better and has almost no gut issues anymore...other therapies are starting, finally, to help him. Do not do valtrex IMO on GFCF...get on a very low carb and starch or NO carb and starch diet or you are asking for more and new troubles...I speak from experience on that point. Best of luck. Stan was also right about the 3x/day for BOTH the abtifungal and the valtrex in our case...it made all the difference in the world. Di > > Hello > I am new to this group and am so confused. Guest guest
Dear Carole, I would first examine diet. Why? Put my son back ona strict gfcf diet. Then eliminated sugars. I saw that my son was eating too much meat and having too much rice. So now I have switched him off rice milk to hemp and portion control of meat. he raided the pantry for rice chips. Kid is telling me he has clostridia. Wi;; first see if I can get a natyral for that and eliminate rice. Does he eat potato or have any potato in diet? Donna Questions??? He ia extremely thin 50 llbs 9 yrs. old very picky eater, days when he eats nothing only drinks juice and maybe a baked potato or fries. or lots of rice and gravy. We worry about him getting enough food intake while taking all this vit. minerals and meds. for yeast ect. He has been extremely low in zinc we gradually adding this afraid too much could hurt him so being very careful. I do understand the SCD diet my daughter is afraid he will give up eating this has been a major problem with him. I will ck. out this SCD. and eliminating rice.
