Just a reminder that the first meeting of the Autism Treatment Forum,

sponsored by the Autism Society of Greater Austin, will be this Thursday,

October

26th, at 7:00 pm, at People's Pharmacy, 3801 South Lamar Blvd (north of the

intersection of South Lamar and Hwy 290, on the east side of Lamar) in Austin.

Kiersten Alton, Pharmacist at People's Westlake, will be speaking on the role

of diet in the treatment of autism spectrum disorders, especially the

gluten-free casein-free (GFCF) diet, but also including the Specific

Carbohydrate

Diet (SCD), the Feingold Diet, and the role of food allergies.

Beginning in January, 2007, the Forum will meet the first Wednesday of every

month (except major holidays), from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, at the Old Quarry

Branch of the Austin Public Library, at 7051 Village Center Drive in Austin,

just

off Far West Blvd., between the Post Office and HEB. From Hwy 360, go east on

Spicewood Springs Road, turn right onto Mesa, turn left onto Far West, then

turn right onto Village Center Drive.

The Forum is a new group for parents and others interested in the dietary,

nutritional, and bio-medical treatment of autism spectrum disorders. Sometimes

the group will have a speaker, other times there will be an open discussion.

No reservations are necessary, and all are welcome.

For more information, contact Dianne Doggett, Forum Coordinator, at

_Dianne@..._ (mailto:Dianne@...) . We hope to see you there.

Dianne Doggett, Augie's mom
