Guest guest
I'm sorry, I don't have an answer for you. I do, however, have a question. Where do you get liquid Valtrex? I thought that it only came in pill form. I know that Acyclovir comes in liquid form. Does your pharmacist compound the Valtrex? Please, please, please respond to me. I am having a very hard time dosing Valtrex with my son. Last night he actually bit me and drew blood while I was trying to get him to swallow the pill. We have tried crushing and adding a little at a time to his juice. We find that it clumps a little and my little guy is starting to refuse drinking anything that I give him. Any help you can toss my way would be greatly appreciated!!!! Guest guest
We get our liquid valtrex from Hopewell Pharmacy. The phone number on the bottle is for the pharmacist in charge. The address is- 1 West Broad St Hopewell, NJ 08525. It comes as 500mg/5ml so we give a tsp twice a day. It is terribly bitter even with gf/cf flavor added so I am giving it with the fish oil and it seems to go down better. I hope the fish oil doesn't turn out to be a no no. Good luck to you. It is so hard getting this stuff in that I have bought little toys that she only gets while taking and right after taking the medicine as rewards. That works, but when it doesn't I have to pretty much " sit on " her. She learns fast, so she'd rather take it willingly usually but not always. I hope this helps! > > > > Hi everyone! > > > > My 4 1/2 year old is on day 14 of liquid valtrex twice a day with > mb12 > > shots every three days and we are seeing some really nice gains. Guest guest
Oh, and yes, I think that it compounded by this pharmacy into a liquid, not originally made in liquid form, sorry if I was misleading. They take the blue color off and mix it into a liqud about the consistency of maalox and the same color. It tastes horrid but I chose it over the pills hoping it would be easier in the long run to get in her. > > > > > > Hi everyone! > > > > > > My 4 1/2 year old is on day 14 of liquid valtrex twice a day with > > mb12 > > > shots every three days and we are seeing some really nice gains. > My > > > question to you all is does anyone know if it is ok to mix the > > valtrex > > > with other supplements when dosing? Guest guest
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much!!!! Maybe I could get my pharmacy here to call Hopewell and see how they go about compounding it into a liquid. Otherwise, I will just get my doctor to call it directly into Hopewell. I know what you mean about that stuff tasting horrid!! I tasted it mixed with juice last night and I couldn't believe how bitter it was. I wish that my son would just learn how to take a pill, but he is just so darn stubborn. Thanks again!!!! > > > > > > > > Hi everyone! > > > > > > > > My 4 1/2 year old is on day 14 of liquid valtrex twice a day > with > > > mb12 > > > > shots every three days and we are seeing some really nice > gains. > > My > > > > question to you all is does anyone know if it is ok to mix the > > > valtrex > > > > with other supplements when dosing? Guest guest
Any compounding pharmacy can do it, the formula is published in their database. Not any pharmacy can compound, though. You're not likely to find a compounder in a Rite Aid or CVS or most chain drug stores in general. Try calling a locally owned pharmacy and see if they compound.CherylThank you, thank you, thank you so much!!!! Guest guest
I don't know if you can mix it with fish oil but it sounds reasonable. I would call Hopewell and ask them to make sure, though.CherylHi everyone! My 4 1/2 year old is on day 14 of liquid valtrex twice a day with mb12 shots every three days and we are seeing some really nice gains. My question to you all is does anyone know if it is ok to mix the valtrex with other supplements when dosing? I have been mixing it with 1 tsp of her fish oil and would like to add in her probiotics at the same time. Will this work or do the probiotics have to be given at a later or earlier time as with enzymes? Is there anything that is not a good idea to mix with the valtrex? I am trying to streamline her supplements to as few times a day as possible since she is still unable to swallow pills and we're having to force the syringe. Thank you for any help and ideas you may have.
