Guest guest
Eczema can respond well to antioxidants such as mangosteen drinks, but be careful, they often mix in many other fruits with it. cath
Guest guest
sounds like you have had a milk infraction with something Recovering from Autism is a marathon NOT a sprint, but FULLY possible! Read more about it on my Blogs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelking Eczema--what's going on inside? I have a 3 1/2 year old with PDD-NOS. We've been following the DAN protocol for a few months now and he is on the GF/CF diet. We thought he was really making some progress! Our son also has been battling eczema since the age of 16 months. It had been pretty much under control until recently, and now we're figuring out that bad breakouts and the autistic behaviors seem to go hand in hand. His stimming is currently worse than ever and his aggravation level is at an all time high. We feel helpless- I can't tell you how many creams (which we feel are just a band-aid) he's been prescribed! Can anyone recommend a doctor/route we can take? We know in our hearts that if we could get to the core problem (viral?) we could save our son! We will go to the ends of the earth. Guest guest
Our son had some gains with GFCF, but also got excema issues, yeast issues, very odd stimmy behaviors....we went SCD for our diet, per Stan's advice, got an RX antifungal on board as we knew we already had big yeast overgrowth - candida spec - and we were going to do a valtrex trial...excema is GONE, steady gains so far, we are only doing all legal SCD foods at this point - we have not even mastered the diet yet.....do not go to the ends of the Earth until you go over everything in the DIET first....does he have a slightly distended belly? How does his tongue look and how are his stools? Get an OATS test and a food sensitivities test...FOOD is the key to those stimms.....in our house it was the complex carbs, starches...things we thought were good for him like brown rice and yams etc were giving us the stims....the change is remarkable...myh son has met all his 9mo-1 year therapy goals in THREE MONTHS, from nonverbal to using " more " for requests, saying baby, apple, and ball....also counting. We are FAR from out of the woods with him, but the SCD diet has been a big turning point for recovering our child....and hopefully healing his gut to the degree that he will not have major issues someday even if he does consume some gluten or casein....Di > > I have a 3 1/2 year old with PDD-NOS. Guest guest
For us eczema was food intolerance related. We were gfcf because of the eczema, way before we went to EI. > > I have a 3 1/2 year old with PDD-NOS. We've been following the DAN protocol for a few > months now and he is on the GF/CF diet. Guest guest
For us, eczema has been yeast. Chelating and not adhering well to a non-sugary diet (particularly around Halloween and Christmas) will end in a flare up, guaranteed. It took 3 months of using Nystatin everyday, twice a day for it to finally, finally go almost entirely away when we first began. Since then, every time we chelate a few weekends in a row, it's guaranteed it will flare up. But as long as we are consistent with our Nystatin and probiotics, it's fine. We also have to make sure that we use gentle detergents and good lotions like Eucerin after a bath. (And as a side note, NO epsom salt baths for our kids...it stings like heck!) Finally, yeast flare ups also make her stimmy, silly, angry, and out-of-it. We've been doing biomed for 3 years (chelating for 2.5) and she is recovered. Yet, yeast can still bring out the worst in her. Good luck! -------------- Original message -------------- Our son had some gains with GFCF, but also got excema issues, yeast issues, very odd stimmy behaviors....we went SCD for our diet, per Stan's advice, got an RX antifungal on board as we knew we already had big yeast overgrowth - candida spec - and we were going to do a valtrex trial...excema is GONE, steady gains so far, we are only doing all legal SCD foods at this point - we have not even mastered the diet yet.....do not go to the ends of the Earth until you go over everything in the DIET first....does he have a slightly distended belly? Guest guest
Excellent observation. Infectious flares or immune activation often make neurological symptoms worse. Eczema in my observation and opinion is a combination of a fungal infection and immune activation. What I see commonly work is an SCD-like diet, antifungals, fatty acids, and l-carnitine. I have observed many cases of full recovery through this methodology. You can watch videos of people lose their eczema in an average of a few days on my website www.stankurtz.com just look under dietary therapies. The diet that many have used to start the process is: www.childrenscornerschool.com/diet.htm I also agree with doing an IGG Food Allergy by blood. Good luck! - Stan > > I have a 3 1/2 year old with PDD-NOS. We've been following the DAN protocol for a few > months now and he is on the GF/CF diet. Guest guest
Eczema is a type of allergic reaction. I would look carefully into food allergies. Also, EFA’s will help eczema symptoms tremendously. Pamela " Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared.
