Guest guest
Hi , I got a stomach virus a few days after Christmas. i also had stomach cramping and felt like I had a fever but didn't. I took mangosteen juice and the cramping felt better almost immediately. I continued to take the juice for the next couple of days. It's funny that you mentioned the intolerance for noise because I have not been able to take the noise at home like I normally would. Our house is very loud. Maybe it's part of the virus. Hope this helps. Viruses!!! I am ready to scream, so I will vent... Whenever my son gets a stomach virus he always a very significant behavioral and intestinal regression. This current stomach virus has been plagueing him since Dec 26th. He has maintained a mild to moderate diarrhea, occasional stomach cramping, red eyes, and flushed cheeks. Since this virus started he cannot stand hearing any moderately loud noise, in place of communicating with others he scripting Max and Ruby, in place of emerging pretand play he is stimming stimming, and has lost so many other gained skills. As you all know, it really hurts being witness to your child sliding backward. His teachers at school are like "Virus, regression, okay, whatever you say" (wink, wink, and a roll of the eyes). It is nice to have a forum where we can discuss with other parents who understand and believe that Autism affects the entire body and, yes, the immune system too. Why can't people open their minds and accept what they see instead that over-used statement "It's just the nature of Autism". IT'S NOT!!! In November we started the yeast and sugar free diet and he had made such an amazing transformation and right now it is all lost. I have been treating him with OLE, Threelac, and Therbiotic Complete but this regression has lasted longer than the others. Is it ever going to leave? We have a complete supplement protocol in place that has worked in the past but this virus is not budging. Thanks for letting me vent. If you have a suggestion, please let me know. If you want to tell me quit complaining, you can do that too. More new features than ever. Check out the new AOL Mail!
Guest guest
I understand...the highs and lows of this are so baffling and upsetting. Hang in there...We have all been there....made me so angry one day I stormed into my old pedi's office and gave them a piece of my mind for poisening my child...could have been arrested...wish I was the mug shot would have made me laugh. Guest guest
hi , so sorry to hear. few additional ideas, things that may help in addition to Liza's juice suggestion: transfer factor (see my previous post) Aloe Vera juice à not SCD legal (is your son SCD - if not I suggest to try it), but for many worth breaking the rule. We use Lily of the Desert, nutricentre has it, 100% pure juice no crap added, hard to find without preservative.. K2 protocol à probably because it acts as antiinflammatory, and also other things on that protocol, if you join the group they send you all the details. Have heard few kids see better gut issues, even getting rid of colitis, also better appetite and range of foods widening.... http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/VitaminK herbals good ones for gut inflammation: curcumin, boswellia serrata, bacopa, Inflammation Control and also the Advanced version of IC by VRP. also artemisia annua worth trying... homeopathy as well monolaurin, not exactly antiinflammatory but excellent antibacterial and also antiviral, we have seen great thigs with it, inc gut effects: less bloating and better looking bms (but could also be combination of things as started it close to aloe vera and q10/carnitine) hth Natasa > > > Hi , > > I got a stomach virus a few days after Christmas. i also had stomach cramping and felt like I had a fever but didn't. Guest guest
You may want to have him scoped by Dr. Krigsman at the Thoughtful House in Austin or Long Island, NY whatever works better for you. Check out the TH yahoo list (thoughtfulhousecenterforchildren) and their website for the GI related problems. It sounds like viral replication and should be looked into quickly IMHO. It should be brought under control ASAP. Never quit complaining, your child needs you to do that so that he can get the help he needs. Who is your DAN? Have you done the high Vitamin A CLO? Have you tried some beta carotene? For the measles. In addition to the measles go after the strep and give echinacea 3X a day to kill other co-occurring infections. All infections come together. See the strep protocol on the Yasko list www.ch3nutrigenomics.com. Yasko also has a supplement list where she recommends other anti-virals among other things. Guest guest
I wanted to add, the Yasko protocol is invaluable in arresting viral regression by virtue of the all round body support it gives. You may also want to run the $625 genetics test to see what the problems areas are. Well worth the time and investment for the high viral population, especially if the immune system is badly impaired (as it was for us). Your genetics will give a clue as to what your strategy should be. Gayatri > > > > Whenever my son gets a stomach virus he always a very significant > > behavioral and intestinal regression. Guest guest
Mangosteen is an excellent juice, loaded with antioxidants. It can really help with autism. Whatever juice brand you drink, it must look dark purple or it's no good, don't buy it if it looks whitish. cath
Guest guest
The first people to come out with mangosteen juice (Xango) used to work for Noni (TNI) Noni and Mangosteen, Goji and some other tropical fruits do similar things: they contain a ton of antioxidants and antifungals. They have actually helped people who were dying of cancer. This is no joke. Xango has cured kids asthma, etc. I know one mother's son's ADHD really improved on it. Needless to say, some autistic kids really do well on it also. It's hard to know exactly how it helps, they need to study it more. It is definitely a yeast/fungal killer. It can kill toe fungus. The amazing thing is that this is only a tropical fruit.... no drugs in it at all. I must say I really do believe in the stuff. If your kids are raised on it from babyhood, they will actually demand it and drink it like any other juice. It has a slight bitter taste, but most adults like it. It is pure mangosteen, inside and skin (the skin has the healing antioxidants in it)mixed with several other fruits. You can google " Xango " and see what you find. You cannot buy Xango in a store. It is very well know in the states and is produced in Utah. I was very actively selling it a while ago, but I'm too busy right now. It may take several bottles before you notice a difference. If you want to know more my email is bailcthrn@.... cath
Guest guest
As I've posted already, you can order it only. It is shipped to your door. You must pay shipping. If you google Xango, you will find tons of websites. Also, do a search under " Mangosteen - testimonials " you should find some amazing stories. I put some Xango on my burnt hand (I burned it on a hot pot) I swabed my burned parts with Xango juice from the fridge, and then again later that night.... the next day I was amazed, my skin had not blistered and looked almost normal. the next day, my hand looked normal.... unbelievable. Has xanthones in it....cath
Guest guest
Everyone, thanks for all of the great suggestions. The Noni Juice and Mangosteen are very interesting. I looked at Noni and Aloe Vera juice today at the HFS. It is my understanding that it kind of lubricates the intestine to basically soothe it and as a result causes looser BMs. Is this a short term side effect or did any of you experience anything different? Do all of the tropical fruits do this? Are Noni, Xango, Mangosteen, and Aloe Vera considered high phenol fruits? Do they aggravate children with phenol sensitivity? Is this a short tem side effect? What else do they do? I am very interested... We are seeing a DAN. His recommendation was to up his probiotic and increase OLE. He has plans for Valtrex in the spring after my sopns gets his system stabilized. I inquired about high dose Vit A protocol and he stated that he as heard great things about it but he cannot recommend it as he could lose his medical license. Aside from the biopsy are there tests that could be done to indicate the presence of measles in the gut? I have concerns about this as I was given a measles shot while I nursed him and gastric issues (have been present since (runny, acidic stools, bright yellow in color, but don't worry girls, every doctor said this was perfectly normal for my baby, AGHH!?). The GI issues became overwhelming after his MMR and Flu shot at 15 mts. Back to the High Dose Vit A, it is my understanding that it could be toxic if measles are not present in the system. Is this correct? In the meantime, I have decided to keep my son home for the rest of the week to work on healing him. He is so tired and lethargic and he is eating and drinking constantly. He is constantly wanting food or drink in his mouth. He is acting like he is starved all of the time and this is not typical for him. I am wondering if he is dehydrated or maybe depleted? Any other suggestions? Am I missing something important here? Thanks for everyones help! > > The first people to come out with mangosteen juice (Xango) used to work > for Noni (TNI) Noni and Mangosteen, Goji and some other tropical > fruits do similar things: they contain a ton of antioxidants and > antifungals. Guest guest
my son was eating all the time until we went SCD. it worked straight away for him, in terms of normalising bms (used to be yellow runny acidic 3-4 times per day), getting rid of reflux/upper gut pain and giving a happier child in general... it slowly but surely normalised his appetite, although we later introduced other things that helped that too, like enzymes, antiinflammatories etc. natasa > > > > The first people to come out with mangosteen juice (Xango) used to > work > > for Noni (TNI) Noni and Mangosteen, Goji and some other tropical > > fruits do similar things: they contain a ton of antioxidants and > > antifungals. Hi , My son is 15 now, but this sounds a lot like him about 5-6 years ago. I remember talking to my DAN doc a few times about his possibly having diabetes. I told him you could almost set your watch by my son ~ nearly every 2 hours on the 2 hours, he was looking for something to eat and/or drink. He was always running to the potty. He seemed to have the three main symptoms of diabetes are polydipsia [excessive or abnormal thirst], polyuria [excessive secretion of urine], and polyphagia [excessive appetite or eating] of Diabetes. I was really worried. The DAN doc finally ordered a 3 hour Glucose Tolerance test. The pre-test was a-okay and so were the 30 minute check and the 1 hour check. Then we got to the 2 hour check, but we didn’t get a rise in sugar that I was expecting. He had a huge Insulin spike! That’s why he was craving food. He needed to eat to utilize his insulin. Once we put him on a feeding schedule He eats breakfast at 6 a.m.; has a snack at 8 and 10 a.m.; eats lunch at 12 noonish; has a snack when he gets home from school around 2:15 p.m.; has a snack at 4-4:30 p.m.; dinner around 6 - 7 and dessert around 8 – 8:30p.m.; he has a glass of 50/50 juice and water at 10 p.m. before he goes to sleep. The times aren’t carved in stone and we adjust them as we need to. For snacks he might have an ounce of GFCF pretzels or potato chips, some GFCF marshmallows [not too often], a dozen grapes, celery w/cashew butter; 3 mini GFCF cookies; a small pear or tangerine; a slice of GFCF cheese or 2 slices of turkey. So, maybe you might want to talk to your MD about doing a 3 hour GTT to rule some stuff out!?! Good luck, Lesa We have to do the best we can.
