this may be where he is experimenting with lang. we went through this to GET to lang. have you tried vit A incase he has some viruses being stirred, you mentioned OLE which stirs viral issues, vit A helps the body still have what it needs with the viruses eating it up and can get rid of verbal and visual stimming with them moving

Verbal stimming - bad sign or good sign?

Dear All,

(going to 5 years now) is having lots of verbal stimming lately, dont know if this is called verbal stimming. But he bubble a lot (with some gestures, he love to watch himself in front of mirror while doing it), mostly copy the talks in the movie, seems like he is trying to immitate their talk. Even when he wake up in the middle of the nite, he talk for 1 hour and I pushed him back to sleep. He sometimes sound like he is singing, but since his verbal is not really good, I cant identify wht song does he sing if he is really singing. He loves barney, elmo, and lately winnie the pooh. He did this bubbling all day long, sometimes I catch the words of "where did it go... are you sure (like babybop)". He is on antifungal rotation (from brainchild) - 3rd round, still have stomachache, little bit of bloating, and doing well behaviourwise, good eye contact. well he did have some emotional outburst last week and I expect tht due to I increase his OLE dosage (he did behave like that the same when I first give him OLE, but that bad things with tantrum, emotional outburst, mood swing only last about 1-2 weeks).

The question is, whether this verbal stimming is a GOOD sign or BAD one?

I'm desperately trying to get him over his echolalia stage which I dont know until when and how to do it. He has been in sound immitation / echolalia since last May 2007. Seems like I need to use ABA instead of floortime to push him for the concept of communication..

I also gave him Acetyl L carnitine last week, may be this boost the verbal stimming?

Any ideas will be appreciated..

Thanks.

Hi Yuliana,

My son did alot of baby talk like babbling,

verbal scripting (from TV) and echolalia. I put

him on Glutathione after reading that it

stimulated the speach centers of the brain.

I've since learned what a powerful anti-oxident

Glutathione is, and how important it is in the

methylation cycle.

I got mine from Kirkman. It comes in capsule

form. I just put the powder in applesauce and he

takes it no problem. I started him on 1 cap per

day and now give 2 (1 morning, 1 evening).

I immediately noticed a positive change in his

speech with Glutathione. He has dropped 99% of

the babbling, doesn't verbally script and has

dropped about 85% of the echolalia. He just

turned 3 and in my opinion speaks appropriately,

although he talks more like a barely 2 year old

than a barely 3 year old, but he's improving

every day.

How much Glutathione would you give orally? I have a 35 lb 3yo dd.

What times of the day to give it and do you have to avoid giving it

with other supplements?

Hi Christel,

I already give him Vit A, but just realized few days ago (from the nordic topics) that I actually give him much less than he need (he need 2500IU for below 5 years). So I up the dosage with kirkmann CLO, and now he is on more than 2500IU per day.

Since I dont have any doctor here, its make me worry if I experiment with high dose Vit A protocol.

Do you refer the Vit A that can get rid of stimming is HIGH DOSE?

didnt have MMR vaccines, but received one single shot measles vaccine. Is that ok to do Vit A protocol for that?

Can you advise the dosage for 5 years? I think it suppose to do it two days only, right?

Btw, i love your blogs :-)

Cheers,

Yuliana
