Guest guest
Are you using a prescription formulation or the throat spray from online?? It was suggested to me (by my local " rescue angel " ) to use the mouth spray in a nasal spray bottle for my daughter. I came here and asked the group FIRST. They warned me that the throat spray will burn and perhaps eventually damage nasal tissue due to the glycerine. One cannot be substituted for the other. We are currently using sublingual MB12 because we cannot find a doc yet willing to give her the script. They have no knowledge in these matters. Thankfully, she is responding to the sublingual but Stan has said very few children do respond. Darlene > > Hi everyone. Guest guest
Hi, I have tried the MB12 nasal spray about 4 times now with my 3 year old son and each time using one spray in one nostril a day, after about the 3rd or 4th day he gets a really bad nosebleed. I'm talking blood all over his face and hands. I'm going to try the sublingual and hope for the best. I emailed Stan about this but haven't heard back yet. Looking for the perfect gift? Guest guest
Thanks for your reply. My gosh poor baby! I think their is a bad burn of some kind. I'm surprised their aren't more reports like ours.??? I searched the archives and didn't find anything. Perhaps my search was bad???? I'm holding off for now. I will ask my DAN! about this as well. I'll keep you posted. --- Costas wrote: > Hi, I have tried the MB12 nasal spray about 4 times > now with my 3 year old son and each time using one > spray in one nostril a day, after about the 3rd or > 4th day he gets a really bad nosebleed. Guest guest
We are using nasal spray from hopewell pharmacy. Which sublinguals are you using? I went to whole foods tonight and only found Jarrow's but didn't want it because of the xylitol. Thanks for responding! --- confi_8944 wrote: > Are you using a prescription formulation or the > throat spray from online?? > > It was suggested to me (by my local " rescue angel " ) > to use the mouth > spray in a nasal spray bottle for my daughter. Guest guest
Hi , I'm obviously curious about your report. Can you tell me what spray you used? How it was ordered (exact dosage and ingredients... (with folinic or without or???) and who was the pharmacy you got it from. That would help us to respond to this better. Thanks. Stan Now since I'm not always on the list I'll tell you few things that I have seen. First, from a compound pharmacy there is rarely (meaning I can't think of one that I am aware of ) a report that someone says it burns or describes it as such. MB12 is naturally occuring in the body already and typically the ph balance of the spray is measured at the pharmacy. I have observed people and read reports of folks who say they actually smell the spray, which is really interesting because a great majority do not smell anything from the spray. Some folks who are very nasally sensitive may have watery eyes for a few minutes, something like that but for a report of the nose to actually burn something doesn't sound particularly right. There is one really good over the counter version that has a touch of potassium in it and I have seen some folks use that as a nasal spray (nasal spray grade MB12 with potassium as a preservative) and the potassium can cause a warm feeling for some... but those folks also lowed the amount of potassium and I haven't seen reports of that since. Now, that said the description of your child's nose being read on the outside all the way up is not a typical report, or the burning in your husbands nose. It's the first time I have seen a report like that. So that's what brings me to the questions I asked above. I would be first looking at the pharmacy and the particular ingredients and dosages. MB12 itself is typically very (very) gentle on the nostril. Feels similar to saline to me. - Stan > > Hi everyone. Guest guest
It's more than just the color. My son was doing fine with it for about 3 weeks then refused to do it anymore. He says his nose burns. After a spray he would cry for a few minutes telling us it burns! After a while, you have to start believing your kid!! I had asked the group before what to do about the sensitivity and no one could respond. I'm not sure enough people have experimented with it enough to know what to do about that.I've got a years worth of RX and don't know what to do. thanks, Alice Looking for last minute shopping deals? Guest guest
It might be where or who it is being compounded by (the pharmacy, call them). I tried the spray first before giving and it didn't burn and my son takes it and doesn't complain about it burning just doesn't like that it runs some time. Contact the pharmacy about it and maybe try it without the foliinc acid or even the Hydroxy B12 that we use, it is milder from we tried the MB12. HIH, I just was brainstorming to help as I know what it's like trying to figure it own with no help. take Care, Selena > > It's more than just the color. Guest guest
Stan, Thank you so much for your reply. Our DAN! ordered from Hopewell Pharmacy. The label only says-methylcob nasal 12.5mg/ml. The liquid inside is red. I am going to call Hopewell tomorrow just to be sure they do not use other ingredients not listed on the label. I know something must not be right here, because for almost 2 yrs I never heard of this from the group. I am stopping for now, but am anxious to be able to use it on him.Thank you, --- Stan Kurtz wrote: > Hi , > > I'm obviously curious about your report. Can you > tell me what spray you used? Guest guest
I have been giving my son MB12 spray off and on for over a year now. And I started using some also. For me, it wasnt' so bad upon initial spray,(burning) but after using it for 3 or 4 days (1 spray daily) my nasal passage was very irritated, burned and bled. I finally put the two together. After eliminating the spray nose was fine. When started back up again my nose was irritated. I wonder if I didn't need it and I was " overdosing " I didn't feel much different with the spray. Although I do credit MB12 as playing a big roll in my sons recovery. Amber > > > > It's more than just the color. My son was doing fine with it for about 3 weeks then > refused to do it anymore. Guest guest
One more thing. I have seen reports about bleeding after MB12. Some of them could be because the spray is red, but beyond that we have seen folks give their child vitamin K and it resolves the issue. Talk to your doctor of course, but you may want to consider doing a vitamin K trial. So, in summary, MB12 shouldn't burn. If it does or seems to don't continue. If it were my child I would try it in myself just to be sure. If it does, call the pharmacy and/or consider switching. Don't keep the spray around more than 90 days (according to Coastal) and keep the spray refrigerated. If we were to issolate the spray was prepared properly, had the right PH balance, was refrigerated properly and still burned I would be very interested in that. MB12 naturally occurs all over the body and it comes from food and gut bacteria. If a the body was responding to it in a way that caused nasal passage burning... let's just say that would be interesting. - Stan > > > > > > It's more than just the color. Guest guest
I have seen a small number of posts on bleeding from administration of MB12 and a little vitamin K typically has taken care of it according to the reports of people trying it. Your Defeat Autism Now! doc should know about vitamin K and nose bleeds in kids with autism. It does happen to subset of our kids. Guest guest
According to what you are telling me its just straight MB12 which typically is pretty stable by itself in the bottle. If the bottle is new I would ask them (or maybe another pharmacy) to test the PH. If it were my kid I would probably switch pharmacies and get a script for myself and try it before considering retrying it on my child. I would work to issolate if it is the particular spray and/or pharmacy or if there is a real reaction. If it turns out to be a real reaction its a very interesting find and it may help your doctor. Hypothetically if a child was reacting to mb12 nasally, how would he/she react with MB12 in the gut through dietary and bacteria sources... and why is it happening, right? Before you go down that path of thinking I would talk to your doctor, talk to your pharmacy, if it were my I would try another pharmacy (not that there is anything wrong with hopewell, just trying to issolate what the problem is) and start with a script for myself and go from there. I'm curious how this turns out. Keep us posted. - Stan > > > > > > Hi everyone. We have administered the mb12 (no > > additives) spray 3 x's > > > (1 nostril)in the past week to my 4 yr old. Guest guest
Any folks with reports similar to this please bring them up. Also mention the ingredients, dosage, pharmacy, how old the bottle is, and if you are keeping it in the refrigerator. Thanks, Stan > > It's more than just the color. Guest guest
Sorry to butt in here but Hopewell caught my attention. Folks on CK2 have had issues with them, the quality control kinds. They have sent shots without adequate ice packs to a few. I believe they do resend shots that sting, they may have cleaned up their act, this was a few months ago. Nobody has complained recently. It does seem that the pharmacies need to be extra vigilant since we have a population of kids that even though verbal might not be able to tell what the problem is. Going through some detox myself I can fully appreciate the importance of Ph control in our kids. Its amazing how much a little imbalance can throw things off. Those Ph strips might be worth their weight in gold for monitoring saliva and urine Ph. Gayatri > > > > > > > > Hi everyone. Guest guest
It's NOT a nasal spray. It's an orally used THROAT spray which some people are putting in nose spray bottles and using inappropriately. It isn't formulated for nasal passages. If you simply want to use it as a throat spray here's the site: http://www.holisticheal.com/store/product.php?productid=696 & cat=0 & page=1 Darlene >> Hi > everyone.
