The difference between prompted speech and spontaneous speech 4. Why children with autism sometimes learn to speak in response to another person, yet never develop spontaneous speech 5. That the use of augmentative communication can increase the likelihood that a non-vocal learner will learn functional and spontaneous speech 8. Criteria for choosing augmentative communication 9. Advantages and disadvantages of a topography based communication system(sign) vs. a selection based communication system (PECS) 10. How to teach sign (ASL) to children with special needs 11.
