Guest guest
I am a new member and my son 3.5 old son w/Pdd-nos is currently taking a high dosage of B6 daily - 225 mg from Kirkman Super Nu-Thera. I've read online how high doses of B6 can cause numbness of the hands and feet, lead to nerve damage, etc. at doses higher than 100 mg. Since my son is still having problems expressing/verbalizing we wouldn't know if he really is having any issues. My question is what dosage is your son/daughter taking and have they had any negative experiences from a high dosage of B6? We do think it's helping my son but I am concerned about the long term effects. I want to find out from other's personal experiences. Thanks in advance! Guest guest
Sam, My son has been taking super nu thera since June '05. At the time, he didn't have much language, so he couldn't have told us about any problems like you are describing. But, now...he has tons of language (he made HUGE gains after beginning the SNT) and I think he'd let us know if anything were bothering him. unless he just doesn't know any different. My thought process, which very well could be wrong, is that his body NEEDS it. One of his lab results showed this as well. So maybe the effects you're describing are for people who a metabolizing fine and don't have the need for extra B6. Hope this helps! Guest guest
My DAN doctor recommended 300mg of B-6 but my son (5 yo old 45lbs) had alot of hyperness with that level so we dropped it down to 100 mg and doing fine now. Hope this helps. Sandy in San Marcos ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing.
