Guest guest
Safe alternative is a salt water pool...( more expensive) If the pool stays chlorine you could always buy a small kiddie pool and fill it with water & epsom salts so your child can rinse off after swimming or you can get magnesium sulfate cream (kirkman) and apply it after swimming. He did not know what I was talking about but is open to working with us. Does anyone know what alternatives are out there? Thanks! Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Guest guest
I think Stan has information on this on his website. I believe that is where I saw it. Just look around the links. I know ozone is thought of as a better alternative for pool water treatment, but it was not the one I read about on Stans site. Check his Cornerhouse school information. Supplementing with Taurine also helps with chlorine tolerating, although this is something you would want to discuss with your DAN! We avoid chlorine pools, but if my kids do happen to swim in one, then we take epsom salt baths and baking soda baths too. Guest guest
Thank you to everyone who has responded so far... My son is profound in his medical issues. We are really starting to see gains for the first time after 2 years under Usman (not her fault...she is amazing). We have done epsoms for 3 years in all forms, he is on taurine, oral lipo. glutathione and lots of other stuff. I just wanted to be extra safe. I am so sick of having to deal with insult to his body with my problem-solving experience, you know? So, the owner said salt was out...a whole different pool system. So I will just tell my son "no" again if we can't find something else. Thanks again! ~ Re: OT - safe alternative pool chemical Safe alternative is a salt water pool...( more expensive) If the pool stays chlorine you could always buy a small kiddie pool and fill it with water & epsom salts so your child can rinse off after swimming or you can get magnesium sulfate cream (kirkman) and apply it after swimming. Guest guest
Ozone is the other one. You do have to usually add parts to the current system. We switched ours when our filter went bad and replaced everything and the Salt is great - don't have to worry about adding things to the pool - it juse works.
