FWIW, my daughter's B12, tested several months before we started MB12 was 1840, when I believe the upper end of the refence range was 800. 6 Months after MB12 shots, her level had barely moved, to about 1900 it I recall. The way it was explained to me was this proved the shots were necessary for her. She was a huge responder to the shots. Our DAN told us, that the B12 in her blood can not be methylated, or changed into the MB12 her cells need. She was finally getting B12, in the shot form, which was why she responded so well. Her blood levels that high proved her body was not changed over what she had gathered from diet, supps, etc into anything useable so it was just "hanging out" in the blood. The following is from an article by Dr. Neubrander - Methyl B12, Myth, Masterpiece or Miracle? That I think explains it better than I. "B12 levels are high-normal to high in

almost all children documented to be methyl B-12 responders. When B12 approaches the methione synthase enzyme and cannot be reduced and recycled, the oxideized form of B12 just sits outside the cell and builds up in the plasma. The easiest clinical analogy to understand this phenomenon is diabetes where the blood sugar that cannot enter the cell builds up in the plasma." - Hope this helps- Lorijsthorpe wrote: Hi Di from Sue, Has your doctor been testing for the exact type of B12? Fri Jan 18, 2008 3:07 pm (PST) My pediatrician called today to tell me that not only is my son not deficient in B12, his numbers are "through the roof" and "off the charts"...she has been emphatic all along that this biomed stuff is all bogus and a waste of our time and money. However, when we give the shots and spray we see gains in language and regulating and our son has met his 9 month to 1 year goals in under four months. She says, "Placebo effect...the numbers don't lie."What's up? Is it possible that he really has no deficit in the b12 department - then why the improved language? Coincidence? Well done Lori,

That’s exactly the info I was also thinking about. Same for our son he is high in B12 and responds well to mb12. Change ped asap is my advice.
