Guest guest
I just joined this group a couple of days ago and need some information. I just recently found a DAN doctor and took my son last week. He is ADHD and the doc put him on MB12, zinc, cod liver oil, probiotics, folinic acid, taurine, calcium, diflucan, nordic naturals omega 3's, magnesium, lithium (had blood test from a couple of years ago that showed lithium was low, copper was high, and tested positive for yeast). He did not say anything about valtrex or any other anti- viral. How do I know if that would be beneficial for him? Also, the MB12 is red. Does it always look that way? I have not been able to get all the meds and supplements yet so I started with just the MB12. He seemed more cranky than usual. He is 12 years old. Any help would be appreciated. Guest guest
Yes MB12 is red. And WOW that sounds like a lot of stuff to start all at once. If he gets happy or miserable, you won't know which one he is reacting to. I suggest starting slow and adding in one supplement at a time. valtrex and other anti-virals I just joined this group a couple of days ago and need some information. Guest guest
I will second the go slow advice. Not all things help all kids and for some kids one thing may help and for another kid, it may cause adverse reactions. Take it slow. You will never know what is helping and what is not. valtrex and other anti-virals I just joined this group a couple of days ago and need some information. Guest guest
My dd is no longer ADHD....she has lost her placenent in a special program/preschool bc she is not presenting with any symptoms behaviors anymore...not even when tired or after a very special treat of a cookie that has suger in it. We brought her very elevated copper down with zinc. We addressed her yeast and bacteria with SCD and have found that after less than six months of living that way she can have a piece of sprouted bread, a tiny bit of sugar even with no major changes in behaviors moods or her ability to demonstrate impilse control....her gut has healed beautifully, her tongue is pink again...not white with red spots...and her stools are formed and the consistency of playdough...varying with what she eats and how well she chews it - all within the normal range....her food intolerances test did not indicate that casein was an issue so she has goats milk yogurt with honey every day and loves it....she could not tolerate mb12 at all....wild hyperactivity and increased yeast....SCD is the fstest, safest, cheapest, and most effective way to nip ADHD in the bud...we wasted three months and a bunch of money on supps in her case before getting on board with cutting out all sugar complex carbs starches bc we did not really believe it would be so life changing. She may be vaccine injured nad we may have to revisit the viral thing with her at a later date...but for now she is doing GREAT...the diet is the foundation of real recovery from the toxic burden that a modern American diet places on our kids' developing guts, nervous systems, and brains.....good luck. The website that helped us was Pecanbread. We bought Eat Well Feel Well and the Grain Free Gourmet...we never did all the stages in the diet as she did not have diahrea, loose stools, or all the allergies/intolerances that many on that diet deal with....she had the bad gut flora though and eating SCD legal foods only for about six months strictly sorted her out and has turned her into a kiddo who loves healthy foods and does nto demand constant gratification from junk foods...and though she takes a multivitamin, CLO, and zinc and probiotics...she does not require a HUGe amount of supps..she will be in a regular classroom in K with no special needs....so worth the effort. She does not eat all the nut flours etc...we just sort of moved away from lots of baked goods and snacks are fruits veggies and nuts and hard boiled eggs etc...whole foods, nice and easy...did learn to really like the banana nut butter muffins though....GO GRAIN FREE and see how long the adhd thing sticks...if you do it with her you will be shocked at the change in yourself as well.....Di i > > Yes MB12 is red.
