like I just responded-103.5 is a high fever. did you try a tepid bath to bring it down? Has the child had the fever for a lengthy time and is very uncomfortable? If it were my child at 103.5 I would give motrin. watch the amounts prescribed for age and weight. maurinediatplay wrote: Is a fever helping our son by killing viruses or should we bring it dwon with Motrin ASAP...thanks! He is sleeping. Not uncomfortable at this time - last checked and it

was 103. The fever came on this evening...we did not put into a bath

as he fell asleep in our arms he was so wiped out. at the time fever

was 102.

Hi Diane-

If you are concerned with Motrin or Tylenol and Calcium didn't work,

here's another remedy that might do the trick: egg whites on the feet!

I haven't tried it yet, but many people swear by it. You can read

about it here: http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/fever.html

Also, I came across this article a few days ago about fever. It seems

to make a lot of sense, but of course you are the one taking care of

your child and know him better than anyone else. If nothing else, it's

something to think about: http://wildbranch.org/Articles/8drjeff.htm

Take care,

Thanks for this....he is still running a low grade fever 100-101 now,

but up and about...we are SO hoping that this is his body's attempt

to mobilize against the viral, fungal, nad bacterial issues that we

think are at the heart of his autism....I will let you know. Praying

for DETOX on this end.....Di

In my opinion you should always give a fever reducer for a 103 degree fever.  I prefer to give one as soon as it hits 101 but I'm a little more on the cautious side than most.  I prefer to make them more comfortable as they are already uncomfortable enough with all the die off and everything else they go through that they can't tell you about.cherylIs a fever helping our son by killing viruses or should we bring it dwon with Motrin ASAP...thanks!
