Guest guest
I don't think so. I believe to be 100% SCD legal you have to make it yourself but you could double check w/the pecanbread message board. Is the Free Range organic type okay, or is there something else?
Guest guest
If I'm understanding your question correctly, you are referring to store -bought broth. I used to buy the kind in the box that said " Free Range, Organic " on it. With SCD, however, you have to make your own broth from chickens that have nothing added to them. They don't necessarily have to be organic, but can't have the broth solution added to them. I make ours with a brand ()that offers " all natural " and " organic " . The all natural chickens have no antibiotics, no hormones and no solution. The organic are the same as above, except fed an organic diet. There's a huge difference in the price. The organics being about $15/chicken here, while the all natural are $7-$8. Tyson also makes an all natural chicken, but it has a broth solution added, so I don't use it. It might be possible to use it if you knew the ingredients of the broth, but I haven't looked into it yet. We just started SCD a few weeks ago with our son and we've seen a clear difference with his GI problems. Hopefully some SCD veterans will reply with even more advice for you. Guest guest
You do have to make your own chicken broth from chickens for SCD. I am able to find a store brand around here, Albertson's, that runs their chickens on sale some and often have their boneless, skinless chicken breasts (our primary chicken meat) on sale. I can't afford organic. You just have to look at the packages very closely to see what is added. Most do have "broth" or spices or carragean which are illegal on SCD. The Albertson's chicken has "up to 3% water added" only
