Guest guest
Quick question - When a parent requests an ARD meeting, how long does a school district have until the meeting actually takes place? Thank you, A. Weber

Guest guest
My understanding is within a reasonable period of time. I think 10 days is generally considered a reasonable period of time for this request but I do not think that is written into IDEA. The Notice of Procedural Safeguards published by TEA (that you should get at least once a year) states on page 4: " At any time you may request an ARD meeting to be held at a time convenient for both you and the school. The school must either hold the meeting or ask through help through the TEA mediation process. " How long has it been? _____ From: Texas-Autism-Advocacy [mailto:Texas-Autism-Advocacy ] On Behalf Of Weber Sent: Saturday, November 18, 2006 7:26 PM To: Texas-Autism-Advocacy Subject: ARD meeting request Quick question - When a parent requests an ARD meeting, how long does a school district have until the meeting actually takes place?
