Why amandatine with acyclovir?

What is amandatine and why is it RXd with acyclovir? We may have to

change our vlatrex strategy as Matt was off it four days when down with

a stomache flu. Now that he is back on it we are not seeing the same

level of response...this may mean that we have to change antivirals,

though I do not know how we will figure out if it is necessary or

not....
