Guest guest
Don't reduce her dose again. If that happens again, you simply ask the pharmacist to provide you with enough to get you through until your doc is back and they usually do. I can't tell you what the fever is from. Resume the Valtrex as normal and speak with your pharmacist about getting some or have them call someone at the doc's office and someone there should be able to order the refill.Try not to worry too much but also try not to let the fever get too high. Also, you should make sure you tell the doc what happened and also try not to let it happen again. Missing doses and changing doses can cause virus mutation.CherylMy 4 yo has been on valtrex with diflucan and nystatin for about 23 days. Our dr went out of town and we were going to run out of Valtrex so we reduced her dose to twice a day, and everything seemed okay. Today there was a misunderstanding and we left home without her meds period...and tonight she has a fever. 103, gave calcium with oj and now it is 100. Is this bc we missed those doses...should we resume giving even when there is a fever...THANKS
