Anyone familiar with Yasko?

Hi all,I have been considering the Yasko protocol for a while now. We'vehad a great DAN dr. for several years and my child is doing well, butI feel there is something we are missing, somewhere. He's progressedvery well thanks to him and some of my mommy instincts, butinevitably at some point or another, we hit a downslide (usuallybehaviors). I can find some antecedents at time, but for the mostpart, nothing I have personally witnessed. I know ABA quite well bynow and have received some professional training. Iconstantly "pound" on the school to remind them to keep track ofthings in order to identify why behaviors seem to come and go. He(we) had a terrible kindergarten experience with a 1:1 Aide that wasloving but pretty inept, so in my opinion, this set the stage for hisfinding out how he could really "push anyone's buttons". Here is oneexample: he knows it is dangerous to run out to the street, but hewill do it out of a thrill every now and then just because heremembers having done that a couple of years before and having hadreceived a LOT of attention for it (at school). This kid has anincredible capacity to recall events even from 3-4 years ago and willremember them in detail (whether positive or negative) and it seemshe re-creates things like this just to get attention. OR will, againfor example, remember having ripped a page or two in a book and willtalk about it and attempt to do it, and sometimes will ultimately doit (as a dare, to get attention, whatever!). We've addressed this atschool and through his ABA program as well doing social stories, drills to walk outside and keeping safe, talking about caring forbooks, etc. We've TRIED to ignore, put on extinction (when possible)when he talks about it and we try to always be a step ahead of him tomake sure we can "see it coming" so we can stop it altogether. Butthe fact is I know my kid very, very well, but I have not developed acapacity for "ESP", so I can't 100% of the time stop him on time fromattempting to do things like this. And you all know how things cansometime work out at school...I automatically assume that no one elsewill advocate for your child like you personally will! It's hard tosee your child do so well in so many areas and look almost age-appropriate and then, for example, he runs out into the street andyou feel like all that hard work and the incredible gains made havegone down the drain in just a couple of minutes! He behaves quitewell (except for moments like this which don't happen often but theSTILL do) He likes school, is quite smart, friendly, and well-likedby his classmates/teachers and family members (but not when he getshimself in trouble!), so he has a great support system.I need to find what it is we are missing so this little guy inelementary school will finally STOP behaviors like these. I'vecalled RCOC to ask for help, since this is of a "behavioral nature",but I am skeptical, since we've tried many ABA principles to addressthis issue through our provider having worked on them diligently, butwe still see some of these behaviors still happen on occasion with noantecedents. So this is why I am loooking at biomedically finding ananswer to my "we are missing something somewhere feeling".Any advice, ideas, words of wisdom very much appreciated!
