Guest guest
We used both for our 6 year old ASD son, and our experience is this: 1. Both doctors are very good doctors who work best in different areas within the GI field. 2. Dr. Ament is surgery-oriented, and typical-pharm oriented. [i.e. He will go the vagal nerve stim route directly after trying rounds of Reglan and Erythromycin 4 times a day to treat gastroparesis associated with constipation. And nothing in between.]

3. Dr. Mehra is younger, a mother herself with little ones, and is open to all of us who see DAN doctors.

[There is a clan of moms at UCLA from the Valley who see Mini Mehra). She may not know all the mechanisms and reasons for doing " alternative " treatments to GI issues, but is open to learning and is a good listener. She is a Pro-biotic supporter, and will try the least invasive stuff first.

4. Ament is not a supporter of Pro-biotics for everyone. He believes in aggressive treatment with pharms.

5. Mehra works closely with Mattel Childrens Hospital Allergist/Immunologist , MD. They both presented at the LA Zoo " Food Allergy Awareness Day " in the Fall and were so very informative. Our ASD son has made more progress with our DAN doctor and Mini Mehra, with Dr. , on board our team. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing.
