So, why do you fear cholesterol, ? Because most of your cholesterol is synthesized by your liver and only a minor portion is derived directly from food, you will have to eat like a rabbit to have any real effect your blood cholesterol level. Been taken of my statin feeling so much better , but my cholesterol has risen again, so i am on a strict diet determined to stay of the statins. ....wendy

i have genetic cholesterol, my dad died at age 64 from stroke. when i stopped statins my cholesterol rose to almost the same levels as it was when i had my heart attack. i have been given pravastatin sodium 10 mg by my GP , but i am trying not to start the statin again!!!
