Looking back at the big picture of statins, none of it ever made sense. There

never was any evidence blocking the mevalonate pathway prevented or reversed

heart disease. But science knew very well the value of cholesterol in supporting

life. Blocking its production would certainly result in major nerve, muscle, and

cognitive problems. Science knew the value of cholesterol back in the 60's. 

So why did they block this important metabolic pathway?  What was their

ultimate purpose? Was it purely corporate greed playing on the public's

acceptance of the lipid hypothesis? Or was it something beyond that?

Suzie! Hi! I have a younger sister named Suzanne so I am already endeared to

you. It feels so good to be validated. Not everyone gets quadruple whammed from

statins.  Vytorin just knocked me for a loop. When it affected my memory was

the worst. I miss my brain the most. I would rather take the sudden, hopefully

final heart attack than live with the repercussions of taking Vytorin. My twins

are raised, my job as a mom is done. My husband is diabetic & had pretty low

cholesterol and they put him on statins. I begged him to not take them. He

balked. Until he was getting ready for foot surgery, & he had to go off them;

then he could feel what the drug did to him. Why some people suffer more than

others is beyond me & the doctors. I feel like we were just one big experiment.

It makes me so sad. I will be sad forever until someone, like a lawyer takes a

statin and is well enough to take the drug companies to court. Not for $$$ so

much as prompting them to

acknowledge the damage, have Dr.s do the proper b4 testing so we have a

benchmark to analyze the changes & damage, tell people how much CoQ10 they have

to take, which my doctor never mentioned, prepare people for what can happen to

them. Not just in a casual TV commercial. Some drugs cause people's jaws to come

unhinged! Just a casual mention on a TV ad. It is not a casual problem to the

person who has to deal with the damage the rest of their life. If I could

un-ring a bell I would. How many are suffering in silence, never to be heard?

But at least some of my friends now know to call me when they feel the horrible

results of statin therapy. So, Suzanne, keep me posted! I pray you a miracle! I

need one, too.

my core or reaching down

below my core. I cooked my first full recipe yesterday. It has taken years to

become functional. I basically gave up and isolated myself rather than have to

explain over and over what did this to me. Statins are like a GATEWAY to your

future diseases because it unlocks the key to future illnesses you would not get

for 15-20 years in the future. I suddenly got ARTHRITIS IN MY HANDS. BIG CYSTS

ON MY PINKY FINGERS THAT REQUIRED SURGERIES. BOTH PINKY FINGERS ARE LAYING DOWN

ARTHRITIS deposits very quickly. I collected beads for 25 years thinking i

would be doing creative projects after retiring! HA! The joke was on me!
