Guest guest
The dry mouth and dry eyes are called Sjorgen's syndrome. I believe it is due to a metabolic dysfunction of the glands. There is no evidence of lymphatic infiltration of the glands as seen in autoimmune disease. It has reversed in one of my patients on heparin therapy which means it improves when the fibrinogen disorder is treated. . ----- Original Message ----- From: Katz Sent: Tuesday, March 12, 2002 12:44 PM Subject: dry mouth Does anyone know why you get a dry mouth with implants. Is it part of an immune reaction. Thanks
Guest guest
Dr. Kolb:My doctor tested me for Syorgen's Syndrome; it came back negative. He said I had a blocked salivary gland which causes a swelling in the left side of my neck blister/bumps on left side of my tongue. My p/s refused to do a MRI as to the pain in my underarm area; said it's probably a nerve or something else. He said it had nothing to do with the explant surgery, even though it cearly states in oper. report that a remnant may have been left behind in axilla area. Would like your comments on this. Please don't say to see another p/s..I already know that. Thanks
Guest guest
The blocked salivary gland is usually due to stones or a tumor and need to be treated. An MRI would be advisable for the axillary pain. . ----- Original Message ----- From: ShihtzusRock@... Guest guest
---I read in a magazine that sucking on a citrus flavored sugarless candy can help with dry mouth. They also have sprays which is saliva replacement. I drink unsweetened orange juice and that seems to help a lot too. My psych drugs give me very bad dry mouth.
