The Statin Drug Scam

Doing some research I recently came across two informative websites,

medications.com and askapatient.com, where patients post about their side

effects from taking prescription drugs. At medications.com, there are many

thousands of posts about statin drugs alone, and it is just sickening to read

about all the terrible, often times permanent damage these drugs have inflicted

on trusting and unsuspecting patients.

Yet you rarely ever see any reporting about this in the mainstream media, and I

believe this is testament to the enormous financial and political power of Big

Pharma. But rest assured that if any vitamin, herb, or other supplement was

causing this much damage, then it would be headline news, the medical/drug

establishment would be all over it, and the FDA would have probably banned it

years ago. But they continue to deny or minimize the damage that statins cause,

so most people don't realize how insidiously dangerous these drugs are and how

they break down the cells of your body.

Contrary to 20+ years of Big Pharma's propaganda, cholesterol is not an 'evil'

substance that causes heart disease, it is absolutely essential for the health

of every cell in the body. But statin drugs restrict the body's normal

production of cholesterol, and if there is an inadequate supply of cholesterol,

it causes the degeneration of cell membranes of muscles, joints, and nerves. To

make matters worse, statins also restrict the production of the essential

nutrient CoQ10. The brain itself contains about 25% of the total cholesterol in

the body, and the FDA recently required a new label warning that statins may

cause loss of memory. Even though the new warnings of memory loss and diabetes

were added, Dr. Amy Egan of the FDA said this should not scare people off of

statins. " The value of statins in preventing heart disease has been clearly

established, and their benefit is indisputable " .

Indisputable?? Here is the FDA just repeating the lies and distortions that

enabled this scam to begin with. Statin drugs do absolutely nothing to prevent

heart disease, because cholesterol is NOT the cause of heart disease. Dr. Linus

ing discovered 20 years ago that the primary, root cause of heart disease is

the lack of sufficient vitamin C necessary for the body to heal and repair

damaged arteries. And the much-touted 'benefit' of statins to reduce the risk

of heart attacks is insignificant except for the clever way they used statistics

to totally mislead the public.

Instead of using 'actual' percentage risk of a heart attack, they used

'relative' percent risk. For example, in two test groups, if 3% of the group

taking a placebo had a heart attack, while 2% of the group taking a statin had a

heart attack, then the 'actual' risk of a heart attack was reduced by only 1%.

But by using 'relative' percent risk, they would be allowed to make the totally

misleading claim that statins reduced the risk of a heart attack by 33%! (2 is

33% less than 3) And even the 1% reduced risk of a heart attack is attributed

to the slight anti-inflammatory effect of statins, and the lowering of

cholesterol had nothing to do with it at all.

There was a medical study done a few years ago of more than 136,000 patients who

were hospitalized for heart attacks. The results were just the opposite of their

'high cholesterol', high risk theory of heart attacks. Only 25% of the patients

had 'high' cholesterol, and almost 75% had cholesterol levels that were normal

or even in the below normal range! In addition, 21% of the patients who

suffered a heart attack were already taking a statin drug.

The FDA has become less of a government watchdog and more of a lapdog for Big

Pharma, so they are still getting away with all the lies and distortion and

still making $billions off of statin drugs. And apparently, it will continue

irregardless of all the damage the drugs have caused.
