That was after the big dinner, and I drove us back in my car. Don't know how you got in, but I think someone left a shoe in the door for me or something. I left the two beds to the two ladies and slept on the floor. If *I* have to pay $139/night myself I'm camping out in the yard and someone else is footing the bill without me. That's insane! I'm working my way through the 250 unread posts (you people write too much) as I read them so forgive me if this has been covered later and I just haven't read it yet. The Westfields Marriott is not too far from where I used to live in Suburban Washington DC. It's a beautiful facility but it's about 25 miles out of the District and will make any attempts to get downtown to be problematic. At the very minimum a half hour by car. More normally 45 min to an hour depending where you are wanting to go. It's actually a pretty isolated suburban location so I don't think there will be much to do in the surrounding area, either. When I say isolated I don't mean unpopulated -- just far away from the typical amenities of the big city. If you like to shop Tyson's Corner is not too far away with two of the bigger malls in the US. Some decent restaurants there, too, but nothing compared to what's available in the District itself. An interesting choice on Sally's part. I think the conference will be very comfortable and in a beautiful facility but doing any DC stuff will require a LOT of effort.
