Guest guest
Since my mom doesn't have a computer, I will speak for her here. Her last lipid panel results were as follows: Total 156 HDL 36 Low Trigs 256 High LDL 69 Chol/HDLC ratio is 4.3 What does this mean? Her BUN, Creatinine and Globulin are also out of range. Her doctor says her numbers are fine except her Trigs, which I said has to do with what she eats, he said that's right. She likes desserts loaded with carbs, fats and sugars, she eats one or two servings of dessert per day. She eats very little veggies, and small portions of meats. I told her other than the desserts, she also eats too many carbs in the form of starchy vegetables, rice and noodles, pretzels, etc. I told her after the appointment that her TC of 156 is too low. She has pain issues, weakness in her legs, foggy thinking. She was diagnosed with CHF about 5 years ago and takes generic Coreg. I said that the CHF is probably from CoQ10 deficiency caused by the years of statins. I told her to take supplemental CoQ10. She said her cardiologist says she no longer has CHF, is that possible? You can get better after a diagnosis of CHF by taking CoQ10? I took it to help my myositis, (muscle inflammation.) I told her that her HDL is too low, and that increases her risk of heart problems. I told her she if she cut out the desserts, her Trigs would probably come down. She says she is going to die soon anyway, so she is going to eat what she likes, (she says this when I tell her she should change her diet.) She would like a quick fix like taking a pill. She is about to turn 79. She does little but lie in bed and watch TV. She has no energy to do anything. I told her that her HDL is too low, and that increases her risk of heart problems. I told her that the pain issues and brainfog are from statins. Any comments? Connie
