Consumers have the perception that lowering cholesterol levels reduces risk of cardiovascular disease. As long as consumers and their physicians have that perception, the product will sell. But its all perception. I had to share this here. I was watching 's new daytime talk show this morning and at the end of the show he had Joy Behar, from the View, on the show. She is apparently a spokeman for Bayer Low Dose aspirin and Women's heart disease. She said that heart disease kills more women than breast cancer.

As they were talking, both Joy and were talking about that heart disease that runs in their families. Joy said she is taking Lipitor and said he takes Lipitor, too. In fact, he said he just upped his dose.

I wonder how long before the taking of Lipitor is going to cause them cognitive problems. I remember years ago, that Regis Philbin mentioned on his show that he took Lipitor. I thought, at the time, no wonder he is always forgetting peoples' names and and having trouble understanding things. AND, he ended up having by-pass surgery anyway. Seems Lipitor didn't do the job for him either.
