Guest guest
and there are some cultures where being overweight is a sign of wealth (because as you said, you have such an abundance of food!) ... just not ours! ________________________________ To: insideoutweightloss Sent: Wednesday, April 20, 2011 8:07 AM Subject: Re: Attitude of Gratitude  When I was driving home from work yesterday, I saw a lady in a motorized wheelchair crossing the street at the light I was stopped at. That made me think of being grateful(I can walk, hear, see, etc). But then I thought of one that struck me as odd: I have such an abundance of food that I can be overweight! Geez, the things you think about during a long commute... Eldred
Guest guest
I have also been thinking along those lines... I don't *have to exercise, I *get to exercise. Its a privilege to have a body that can move... arms and legs that function. That is what I am telling myself and although I haven't actually made it to the gym yet, =) I can feel myself gaining more respect for my physical being! Yeah!! Guest guest
Eldred I too have thought along these lines a lot lately. I have been observing Lent and have been abstaining from all animal products but have still overeaten on dried fruits, bread, soy cheese etc. And I have thought so many times that the true meaning of fasting should have been to eat little not till I'm over full. I've also often thought of the millions that are spent annually on diet programs so we WON'T eat!!!! I mean if you were to try and explain this to an under developed country..... Guest guest
Eldred I often try to focus on and be thankful when I am having a rough day and even when I am not having a rough day. Avie you are special, wonderful, unique and beautiful no matter what and always. and Jen I just commented to do the two re dos a day and two positive things a day journal. Greek women and statues come to my mind when I think of cultures. Guest guest
When I had another binge/purge cycle last week, I thought " wow, my body endures even this, and it loves me anyway! It anyway gives me everything it can, like 100% of what it can! " unconditional love, here it is! Just think about it.. Even if sometimes things happen the way that I choose to hurt my precious body, it loves me back! makes me want to love it back! > > When I was driving home from work yesterday, I saw a lady in a motorized wheelchair crossing the street at the light I was stopped at.
