Hi Everyone,

I ran outside today, roughly 3.35 miles. I didn't time my run, because I have a

tendency to get obsessive about times, rather than enjoy myself. I felt great

on my run, and felt like I could have run longer. Then later in the morning, I

went out to mow the lawn.

I'm going away for a few days, so I hope everyone has a great weekend and stays

well!

With love,

Yuna

Hi Yuna,

today I did

 - 25 pushups

 - 25 pullups

 - deadlifted with 100 lbs 15 times

 - overhead squat with 45 lbs 15 times

 - 25 - 35lb kettlebell swings

 - ran 10 blocks

and had a failure try at rope climbing (something I suck at right now but still

practice because one day I won't suck and I'll look like a monkey when I'm able

to climb it!)

thanks for your daily inspiration - treat yourself well over your next few days!

Colleen

Hi Colleen, Yuna...everyone else,

I just finished my first kettle bell workout - it was quite tough.

Planned a long run for today - but there has been non-stop torrential rain.

Hopefully tomorrow will be drier.

Great workouts!

I did some training on the track on Saturday. Jogged 2 kilometers, then did some

footwork exercises for about 20 minutes (sprints, jumping, hopping, running from

side to side etc) and finished with 8 runs across the fields. Left feeling

awesome!

Sunday was rest day and today did chest, back, biceps and triceps at the gym.

Tennis tomorrow...Yipeeeeeeee  :-)

Hello Everyone,

Happy Monday!

I did an 11 mile walk /run (mostly running) yesterday - 2nd long run in 2 weeks.

Surprised at how good I feel - after the 1st long run (10mi) i could barely

walk.

After this one - i feel fine.

My Monday night class (school) has just been cancelled, so maybe I will go for a

bike ride after work.

Have a great day.

Oh my, Colleen, I am in awe of your strength!! Can I ask how long did it take

you to build up to 25 pushups and pullups? Doing 15 pushups takes me to my

limits... doing 25 seems daunting! And let's not talk about pullups, LOL!

I feel like saying 'forever' (it was just about a year, truly but when you

workout 3 times a week and do them at every workout - it does seem like

forever!)  ... kripes, now they are done 10 at a time (small rest of 8-10

seconds then 10 more rest then 5 more and I positively can't do any more) ...

working on getting to 3 sets of 10 then I'm going to work on stringing them

together.

the things that I think have helped are doing the heavy weight lifting and we

practice in class doing the plank position & holding it for 30 seconds or more -

both of those things stress the arm muscles like crazy and get you

sweating!  but I still can't climb a rope!!   it'll come tho

with pullups - think of pulling the bar to you (vs. pulling yourself up) - it's

a small 'mental trick' that helped me!

I also practiced a number of steps to get there from the nerd fitness web site

- he has some great step by step exercises to get you there:

pullups - http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/04/25/do-a-pull-up/

pushups - http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/02/15/proper-push-up/
