Guest guest
it always reminds me of that quote that success is falling and getting up again, where failure is falling and not getting up ... so no matter where we fail or fall or stumble, it's our getting up / getting back on the horse / trying a different door that makes all of us successes in life!  my parents were good at the wrong & punish ... and it's been hard to get that one out of my brain (I was well trained!) .. but I am winning the battle to view them as opportunities to change/grow and keep moving! one of the earliest things that got me with was the comment about our past failures at losing weight, giving us a much higher success ratio going on, as we've learned so much. I also love that we are not losing weight but letting it go ... I have to remind myself on that one as well! I love the rambles - you never know where they are going to take you & what you'll learn on the trip! ________________________________ To: insideoutweightloss Sent: Friday, June 3, 2011 7:31 AM Subject: Life's lessons and why I try to watch for them  Well this email had started off as a simple reply to Colleen's message, but after much rambling, I thought that it might be smart to change the subject of the email, heh... Thanks Colleen, That is the kind of mentality that I've been attempting to cultivate as well. I may not always succeed at that, but I believe what really matters is the fact that I'm making progress. Life is overflowing with lessons, some obvious, some more obscure. I try to look for the lessons, not so I can punish myself if I did something " wrong, " but so I can really be receptive to the invaluable guidance that only first-hand experiences can provide. Man, you guys have already got me rambling.. Haha...
Guest guest
Heh, sounds like we had similar training programs... Yeah, it can be very therapeutic to ramble- thanks for letting me Wow, it sure is hot enough today! I'm unwinding before I go to sleep (I work midnight shift) in the shade of the back porch. My own personal little natural sauna, haha.. Hope you guys have nice weather to enjoy where you are. > it always reminds me of that quote that success is falling and getting up again, where failure is falling and not getting up ... so no matter where we fail or fall or stumble, it's our getting up / getting back on the horse / trying a different door that makes all of us successes in life! > > > my parents were good at the wrong & punish ... and it's been hard to get that one out of my brain (I was well trained!) .. but I am winning the battle to view them as opportunities to change/grow and keep moving! > > one of the earliest things that got me with was the comment about our past failures at losing weight, giving us a much higher success ratio going on, as we've learned so much. > > I also love that we are not losing weight but letting it go ... Guest guest
That reminds me of my favorite quotation: " Success is the ability to go from one failure to another without loss of enthusiasm. " -Winston Churchill After countless injuries and broken bones from training, this simple saying has kept me inspired and driven. Cheers to you all, and a happy Wednesday! -! > it always reminds me of that quote that success is falling and getting up again, where failure is falling and not getting up ... so no matter where we fail or fall or stumble, it's our getting up / getting back on the horse / trying a different door that makes all of us successes in life! > > > my parents were good at the wrong & punish ... and it's been hard to get that one out of my brain (I was well trained!) .. but I am winning the battle to view them as opportunities to change/grow and keep moving! > > one of the earliest things that got me with was the comment about our past failures at losing weight, giving us a much higher success ratio going on, as we've learned so much. > > I also love that we are not losing weight but letting it go ... Guest guest
I used to be a long distance runner (from the age of 9 all the way through college), and I sustained 5 stress fractures (3 of them in one calendar year!), including one in my femur that was really devastating. After college I began race walking, and because the impact is so much lower, I've been healthy! -! > That reminds me of my favorite quotation: > > " Success is the ability to go from one failure to another without loss of enthusiasm.
