Guest guest
Hi Jen I've been thinking about your post over the last week or so, to see if I could coherently add something in for you (hence the delay sorry). Sometimes levels 1 and 2 correcting don't get your emotions back into balance - it takes a bit longer and in the meantime the emotions go up and down and so do the behaviours. My thoughts are that if you are in downward spiral it can help to recognise the small successes within what you are feeling and doing. There is a podcast which talks about making the " DIF " reducing the duration, intensity or frequency of overeating and just focusing on one of these at a time, rather than going from overeating to " perfection " (as we see it)and then collapsing again. If you can, within overeating episodes, feel that you are making an improvement on the last time, by stopping earlier, or eating healthier choices but too much volume or maybe just coming more aware of what you are doing and observing it. Then recognising those successess and putting them in your success journal. At the moment, I am eating a bit too much Christmas junk for my liking, BUT it is nothing like it might have been in the past. And I haven't just caved in and said sod it I might as well... So these are successes which build to new behaviours over time. So try the redos and try and make small differences to the pattern and celebrate them. Hope this helps Viv > > >Welcome.
